Layers

I work in layers. Layers of acrylic and oil are applied then sanded numerous times. Textiles, hand stitching, and found objects are often included in my work. These are the physical aspects of my art.

Figurative in nature, my art has always been more about portraying the emotion. My memories, ideology and relationships with others create the foundation for my work, yet the direction of my art seems to be most influenced by the maturing relationship with self. These are the spiritual aspects of my art.

I live in the layers. Combining the physical with the spiritual. Layering what I know with what I want to know. I create a very personal place of self-reflection and then, because I am an artist; I put it out there for all to see.

This is the odd nature of the Artist.
